WELCOME TO AFROTREE
Steven and Janet are fed up with gentrification, whitewashing, and code switching in the big city. They move to Afrotree, an experimental, gated community populated by only African-American residents. Inspiration
As a New Yorker, you’d be surprised how much inspiration comes from eavesdropping on people’s conversations. A lot of my character development comes from the conversations I’ve overheard.
Milestone
I’ve always wanted my film projects to be selected for a film festival. In 2020 I finally had the opportunity for my short film, Playground to be selected in 6 festivals including the American Black Film Festival.
Superpower
I can find the best food spots, literally anywhere.
Dream Destination
Bora Bora
Beloved Book
Book – The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F**k, by Mark Manson. Sometimes we put too much emphasis on things that do not matter. This book reminds me that caring less about the little things can make a big impact on my happiness.
Song Selection
The Commander by Kid Cudi
Self-Care Ritual
Every Sunday when the sun goes down, I use only candles to light my apartment.
