Emily Carmichael Partners with Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Entertainment
OneFifty writer/filmmaker Emily Carmichael has partnered with Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Entertainment and Jurassic World filmmaker Colin Trevorrow to co-write and direct the upcoming family action film Powerhouse.
Powerhouse is based on an original story by Trevorrow, with Simon Kinberg producing and Emily writing the script, drawing on her experience as writer of the festival-favorite, geek-tinged animated web series The Adventures of Ledo and Ix and short film RPG OKC.
“Emily Carmichael is the next great writer-director of the kind of movies I love,” said Trevorrow, who found early critical success with his award winning short film The Hunter and the Swan Discuss Their Meeting and later went on to direct Jurassic World in 2015.
Emily joined the original slate of OneFifty artists in 2015. We congratulate her on this success, and we’re excited to see what she and the team create!
