Young Guru Profiled in Fast Company
“Gimel ‘Young Guru’ Keaton, one of the music industry’s best-known audio engineers, has helped craft tracks that have been recorded by the likes of Beyonce, Drake, Rihanna, and Jay Z.”
So begins the article “Sound Advice” in the May 2016 edition of Fast Company, spotlighting OneFifty artist Young Guru. Along with innovative entertainment personalities like cover subject Chelsea Handler, Guru is recognized for his ability to engineer experiences from behind the soundboard. Fast Company explores his creative process in the studio, favorite collaborations and philosophies on creating quality content.
“We’re problem solvers,” he says of his role in the recording process. “Anytime there’s a problem, an engineer is supposed to perk up and be like, ‘Oh, wow, this is a challenge for me. I have something to design and build to figure this out.’” Read more of Fast Company’s profile by picking up a copy wherever you buy magazines.
Young Guru began his relationship with Time Warner in 2013 when he worked on the score of the Warner Bros. film The Great Gatsby. As a OneFifty artist, he has partnered with Blue Ribbon Content, the shortform series production unit of Warner Bros. which develops and produces live-action series for digital platforms.
We can’t wait to see what he does next. Check out Guru’s OneFifty profile here.
